Important Annoucement

On the 25th March 2019, it was announced that Last Word, a leading global business information, live events, research and data provider to the global wealth and asset management industries, has been acquired in its entirety by Bonhill Plc, a company listed on AIM.

The primary motivation for the sale is to ensure that Last Word can develop to its full potential for the benefit of our growing client base and, vitally, our fantastic team. We firmly believe that the combination with Bonhill will provide the necessary support, funding, infrastructure and skills to maximise the potential of our existing brands and those in development. The combination also provides Last Word a springboard into America, where clients have encouraged us to provide our market leading solution. This means that Bonhill / Last Word now has respected asset and wealth management brands in America, Europe, UK, Middle East, Southern Africa and Asia and a robust platform to serve its clients even more comprehensively.

As asset management becomes a more global enterprise, Last Word is striving to be the preferred B2B strategic partner of asset managers and associated financial institutions worldwide. This requires ongoing, substantial investment into world class products, services, solutions, analytics and people. Bonhill and its management team are totally committed to doing exactly this with its Last Word business.

Bonhill Plc is a UK-based media company quoted on London’s AIM market. It focuses on three sectors: technology, diversity and financial services. Financial titles include consumer brands What Investment and Growth Company Investor in the UK and the market leading Investment News in the US. Bonhill also runs a fast-growing range of diversity-led events including the global Women in IT and Women in Finance series. It is Bonhill’s goal to build a collection of market-leading brands in all three areas on a global basis.

Co-founders, CEO Rod Boulogne, Group MD Jamie Hinchliffe, editorial director Dylan Emery and Asia MD Tom Porter are all staying in their roles to support Last Word’s clients and grow the business. As a strong sign of confidence in the combined group, the Last Word partners have taken a portion of the sale proceeds in Bonhill shares.

We are very grateful for the industry’s past support and look forward to working closely with established and new clients in our enhanced capacity.
